"When Kyo learns that his uncle is hunting for a seal to take to the zoo, he must use every bit of resourcefulness he can muster to save his vulnerable playmate. Readers are not hit over the head with the theme of animals being best left in the wild. Kyo's transformation from hunter to conservationist is plausible and touching. A welcome addition for younger readers.
